Telling The Story…
Scrolling through my phone today, I came across a note and picture. It was a moment in time I had completely forgotten about but so moved my heart when I came back across it and reread my entry for that day. It was a great reminder to me of what matters most in this life.

“Today I met a lady and her family from Columbia. As I was taking pictures of the Moravian star on display at the beach, she asked if I would take her family’s picture. I was happy to do so. Afterward, I returned to the star and she took note. She walked over to me and said, “You’re really drawn to that star.” I said, “Yes.” I asked her, “Have you heard the story of the Moravians?” She said, “No.” I took a few moments and I shared with her the beautiful story of the two Moravian brothers who were called to minister the gospel to the African slaves in the West Indies. When a certain slave owner refused to give them access to the people to minister to them, the Moravian brothers sold themselves into slavery so that they could preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the slaves on the island. As they boarded the ship to go, they called out to their family, “May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward for His suffering!” Because of their personal sacrifice, it is believed that some 13,000 people received the gospel and became followers of Jesus Christ.
She stood there listening intently and when I was finished sharing the story, she asked for another picture, this time, with her and her daughter in front of the Moravian star.
It is amazing to find opportunities to share the gospel, to share Jesus, to share the faith, right before you in the most unexpected times and places.”
